What's new in your Oneva workspace — September 2026

This week we rolled a fresh round of updates into every Oneva workspace. The big one: the platform behind your workspace — Files, Calendar, Contacts, Mail and Talk — moved up a whole version to Nextcloud 35. There's nothing to install and nothing to switch on; the next time you log in, it's already there.

Here's what you'll actually notice.

Your workspace now runs Nextcloud 35

A few changes you may run into day to day:

• Mail gets a floating composer. You can now keep writing an email while you browse the rest of your mailbox — the draft floats along with you. And you can choose when messages are marked as read, or switch it off.
• Talk gets Channels and Announcements. For the things that go to a whole team: in a channel, moderators publish and everyone else reads and reacts without the chat filling up with discussion, and an announcement reaches a fixed audience — nobody joins or leaves by accident.
• Everything feels a touch smoother. The app menu is tidier, with clearer icons and a more sensible order, search has been reworked, and pages load faster.

Documents, spreadsheets and presentations: Collabora 26.04

The editor that opens when you click a document, spreadsheet or presentation — Collabora — moved to version 26.04. It's mostly a polish release: editing feels smoother, comments behave more reliably, and a few small things got nicer. Two you might notice: if you present slides, you can now see your speaker notes in a panel below the slide while you present, and while you're typing a formula, the view no longer scrolls away.

Security patches, quietly applied

The mail server and Mimir, the AI assistant, both received security updates this week — including a fix for a critical vulnerability in a software library we use. Everything was patched promptly, and there's nothing you need to do. We mention it because we'd rather you hear it from us: keeping your workspace safe is our job, not yours.

Mimir's big upgrade

Mimir, the AI assistant, moved up a whole version this week — its biggest upgrade since it arrived. The fundamentals stand: Mimir is optional, switched on only if the workspace owner decides to, and European by default — Mistral models, with inference hosted in the EU. If you'd rather run a different AI provider, enter its address and your own key in Mimir settings and it runs on your account instead. And you don't have to talk to Mimir inside Oneva: the owner can switch on a secure connector and reach the same workspace from the assistant you already use, like Claude or Le Chat.

So what can you actually ask it to do? Quite a lot, now:

• Find things across your work. "What did we agree with the supplier about delivery dates?" Mimir searches your mail, files, calendar, contacts, notes, tasks and Deck boards, reads what it finds, and answers.
• Handle your email. It drafts, replies and forwards — attachments included — and shows you the finished message before anything goes out.
• Look after your calendar. It finds a free slot, and creates, moves or cancels events, showing you the change before it happens.
• Keep the small things in order. Tasks, notes, contacts and Deck boards: ask it to add, update or tidy, and it does.
• Work with files and documents. It manages your files, converts documents to PDF, and creates presentations and spreadsheets that follow your organisation's look — your colours, fonts and logo.
• Run the numbers, and look outside. It runs Python for calculations and data work, and it can search the web and read pages when the answer isn't in your workspace. (On larger workspaces it can browse a website interactively, too.)
• Remember, and catch you up. Ask it to keep a fact — a preference, a project, who's who — and it remembers for next time. Ask what happened while you were away, and it recaps recent activity across your workspace.

One rule runs through all of it: anything that sends something outward or removes something — an email, a calendar event, a task, a card, a contact — needs your explicit approval first, every single time. Mimir proposes; you decide.

Finally, video calls in Talk got a newer version with a simpler setup — and it's already live in every workspace.
